BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Senior Justin Hart added his name to the Union College record books in the Bulldogs' 10-0 win over the University of Cincinnati-Clermont Tuesday.

Hart, a catcher from Lake Mary, Fla., eclipsed the Union College career doubles record with his RBI double to center field in the sixth inning. He now has 49 during his career passing Tim Moore, a member of the Bulldogs' team from 1998 to 2001. The double scored Tyler Martin (Corbin, Ky.) to make the game 9-0, and the Bulldogs added another run during the frame. Hart added another hit in the game and scored once.

Union, ranked No. 16 nationally, improved to 25-6 on the year. The victory is the Bulldogs' 20 win at Jerry W. Carey Stadium as well. Cincinnati-Clermont owns a 0-5 record after the game.

The fifth and sixth inning saw Union post two runs in each. Union jumped in front early with three runs in both the first and third innings. The Bulldogs took advantage of four Cougar errors to score six unearned runs during the contest.

Brett McAlpin (Winchester, Ky.) and Josh Ehringer (Somerset, Ky.) each accounted for two hits for Union's cause. It was the fourth time McAlpin has recorded a multi-hit game while Ehringer extends his hitting streak to seven games.

On the mound, the Bulldogs' Lucas Henson (Corbin, Ky.) ran his record to 3-1 with six innings of work. He struck out three batters and allowed seven hits. Matt Warren (Barbourville, Ky.) came in to pitch the seventh to help preserve the shutout.

Dominic Costanzo went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Cougars. Jerry Neeley suffered the loss as he tossed five complete innings and allowed eight runs, two earned runs, on eight hits.

Next on the Bulldogs' schedule is a home game with the University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Cumberlands enters the game ranked 17th in the country. The two teams split an earlier doubleheader on March 18. Union took the first game 3-1, but lost the final game 4-1.
