LUBBOCK, Texas - Nine Texas Tech Baseball players gave back to the local community this morning as they spread some Red Raider Spirit at Covenant Children's Hospital.

The players visited over 20 patients and took time to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Texas Tech is currently on Spring Break this week which allowed the players to make their visit during the morning hours when most patients are still in their rooms.

"This town gives us so each much, so it was an honor to be able to take some time out and give back to our community," said sophomore catcher Cooper Fouts. "Lubbock has really become home to me and the people here are incredible. It was nice to be able to put a smile on a kid's face that probably hasn't had a reason to smile in a long time."

Junior pitcher Steve Gooch, sophomore outfielder Cody Fuller, sophomore catcher Cooper Fouts, junior third baseman Clint McGill, junior pitcher Jeff Karstens, junior second baseman Josh Haney, senior outfielder Scooter Jordan, junior shortstop T.J. Bruce and junior first baseman Doug Beck all particpated in this morning's hospital visit.
