Senior Dan Biedenhar Collected His First Multi-Hit Game of the Season in a 9-8 Loss at #16 Tulane

METAIRIE, LA - The Wright State baseball team dropped a 9-8 decision to #16 Tulane Saturday afternoon at Zephyr Field. The Green Wave put up six runs in the fifth inning, but WSU plated seven in the ninth before Daniel Latham recorded the final out to spoil the comeback bid.
The Green Wave loaded the bases in the fourth inning, chasing WSU starter Dan Barker (1-1), and plated the first run of the day. After retiring the first batter of the inning, Barker walked the bases loaded. Freshman Jordan Wolfe came on in relief and allowed only one run in the inning.
The first seven Tulane batters of the fifth inning reached base and six runs crossed the plate in the inning to give TU a 7-0 lead. In the inning, the Raiders used three pitchers and Tulane benefited from five walks, two wild pitches and a balk to extend their lead.
In the seventh inning, Nick Allsop drew a two-out walk and John Kopilchack ripped a double into the right-center field to get the Raiders on the board.
Tulane (8-4) added a run in the seventh and a run in the eighth to make the score 9-1 in favor of the Green Wave.
In the ninth, the Raiders opened the inning with six straight hits, including three doubles, and cut the deficit to 9-6. Claibrone came on to record two outs, with WSU plating two more runs, before handing the ball to Daniel Latham who struck out Kris Steffen to end the game.
Oeder collected two hits in contest, raising his average to .450, driving in two RBI and scoring once in the contest. Biedenharn and Allsop each collected two hits in the contest and six other Raiders accounted for rest of the Raider offense.
The Raiders fall to 2-3 overall in 2007 and will wrap-up the three game series with Tulane on Sunday, March 4. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 Dayton time.
