Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's cross country team had five members named to the America East Cross Country All-Academic Team, according to a release from the conference on Tuesday. Stony Brook had two members from the men's team and three from the women's team honored.
Junior Alex Felce (Stroud, England), who placed second at the America East Championship, and junior Scott Ulberg (Bellmore, N.Y.) were the representatives from the men's team, while junior Laura Huet (Carrickmines, Ireland) and sophomores Holly Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) and Lucy van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) represented the women's team.
All-Academic are made up of 10 student-athletes for individual sports, with each student-athlete having started or acted as an important reserve for their team and participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games or competitions. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.
