The Maryland cross country team, competing at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational on Saturday, finished with a 2-2 mark in dual meet competition. The team defeated host Mount St. Mary's (17-42) and UMBC (21-34) and fell to event-winner Navy (20-42) and American (24-31).

On the men's side, three Terps finished among the event's top eleven runners, led by Nathaniel Zola's fifth place finish of 15:52.90. Adam Ambrus (15:54.94) and Pat Bailey (15:59.28) finished in ninth and eleventh place, respectively. In the women's 5k run, Maryland's Meghan Braffer registered the Terps' best overall finish, crossing the finish line in second place, with a time of 18:19.03. Katie Purcell (19:10.59) finished in 10th place among the event's 63 competitors.
