Three members of the Wayne State University women's cross country team were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Cross Country teams.
To qualify for individual all-academic honors, the student-athlete must have completed 24 semester or 36 quarter hours and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The student-athlete must also finish in the top 30 percent of individual participants at their respective regional cross country championships.
Graduate Student Tracy Egnatuk (Albion, Mich.) finished 24th at the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Regional. A 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan, she has been on the honor roll all three semesters in graduate school at WSU.
Senior Kara Kessler (Ionia, Mich.) placed 37th at the 2008 NCAA Regional. She has been on the honor roll six semesters including four times above a 3.5 term gpa.
Junior Rachelle Malette (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) won the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Regional and has also been on the honor roll.
