WASHINGTON, D.C. - On a day of strong performances for the Georgetown cross country program at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Princeton University, the Hoya women's team started things in strong fashion on Saturday morning.

Georgetown, ranked No. 13 in the country by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches, placed three individuals among the top-20 overall and finished in fourth place of 26 teams at the NCAA Regional.

The fourth place showing virtually assures the Hoyas of an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, which will be held on Monday, Nov. 24 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Princeton and West Virginia tied for first place with 51 total points, while Villanova was third with 59 points and Georgetown fourth with 90 points. The Hoyas had three individuals among the top-20 in the field of 188 runners and had all seven team members finish among the top-30 overall.

Graduate student Elizabeth Maloy (Loudonville, N.Y./Holy Names) led the Hoyas, finishing eighth on the 5K course in 21:44. Freshman Emily Infeld (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont) placed 14th in 22:08 and senior Natasha Lebeaud (Folsom, Calif./Folsom) finished in 16th place in 22:09.

Georgetown's other scorer was senior Lise Ogrodnick (Beaconsfield, Quebec/Beacosnfield), who placed 25th in 22:28. Other finishers included freshman Katie McCafferty (Convent Station, N.J./Oak Knoll), who placed 27th in 22:38, junior Renee Tomlin (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City), who finished in 28th place (22:39) and junior Lauren Gregory (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls), who placed 30th in 22:43.

On the men's side, led by junior Andrew Bumbalough (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood Academy), the Georgetown University men's cross country team cruised to a dominating win at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. The win for the men's team provides the Hoyas with an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, while the women's team should be in line for an at-large berth.

Georgetown topped the 24-team men's field with 27 points and Penn State followed with 73 points to each earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championship. Villanova came in third with 84 points. Bumbalough, who led the Hoyas to the BIG EAST Championship two weeks ago in New York, won his second-straight individual title, covering the five-mile course in 31:36.
