PULLMAN, Wash. -- Former Cougar Track & Field greats Dominique Arnold, Ian Waltz and Anson Henry will be competing at the 10th IAAF World Championships, Aug. 6-14, at Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland. Arnold and Waltz are members of the United States team while Henry will compete for Canada.

Arnold, a 110m hurdler from Long Beach, Calif., now training in Diamond Bar, Calif., ran a personal-best time of 13.01 seconds to finish second at the USATF Championships at Carson, Calif., last month. Arnold was the 1996 NCAA 110m hurdles champion as a senior at Washington State.

Waltz, a discus thrower from Post Falls, Idaho, now training in Chula Vista, Calif., was a member of the USA 2004 Athens Olympic team. He won the USATF Championships discus with a throw of 205-feet, 5 inches but had thrown a PR of 219-8 at a meet held in San Diego the week prior to the USATF meet. Waltz was an eight-time All-America thrower for the Cougs and graduated in 2000.

Henry was the 2002 Pac-10 champion in the 100m and 200m dashes and is the WSU record-holder in the 200m at 20.52 seconds. Originally from Pickering, Ontario, Henry was a member of the 2004 Canadian Olympic team. He will run on the 4x100m relay team at the World Championships and has a personal-best 100m time of 10.15 seconds.
