Bush to Represent the U.S. at the NACAC Under 23 Championships

The Spartan All-American will be one of two Americans competing in the 3000m steeplechase on Saturday.


Nicole Bush will get a taste of international competition at the NACAC Under 23 Championships this weekend.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track & field All-American Nicole Bush, fresh off her fourth place finish at the U.S. Olympic Trials, will represent the United States at the 2008 North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under 23 Track & Field Championships July18-20 in Toluca, Mexico.

Bush will be one of two Americans, joining Bridget Franek, running in the 3000m steeplechase, which is set for 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 19. Bush ran a personal best time of 9:40.27 in the finals of the Olympic Trials two weeks ago in Eugene, Ore., narrowly missing out on the third and final Olympic Team spot.

The NACAC Under-23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association.
