Thomas and Glenn Competed at AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Two Central Michigan University track and field athletes competed at the AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium on the campus of IUPUI this weekend. Hurdlers Tamera Thomas and Clarence Glenn took to the track against the best amateur and professional track athletes from across the country in their respective events.

Thomas, an NCAA Indoor All-American in the pentathlon in 2006, ran 13.46 in the 100m hurdles in her first round heat to earn one of the 16 spots in the semifinals of the event. She was eliminated in the semis after running 13.60 in the second of two semifinal heats.

Glenn, an NCAA Indoor All-American in the 110m hurdles in 2005, posted a time of 13.80 in the first of four qualifying heats in the 110m hurdles, and that mark earned him the 16th and final spot in the semifinals of the hurdles. He ran 13.82 in the semis and was eliminated from the competition.

The AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships served as the final event of the U.S. Track and Field Association's Visa Championships Series, which was a series of prestigious track and field events that were nationally televised and featured the best track athletes in the United States vying for prize and bonus monies of $1 million. The outdoor event also served as the U.S. qualifier for the IAAF World Cup of Athletics to be held Sept. 16-17 in Athens, Greece.
