Michigan Women, Wisconsin Men Claim Big Ten Titles

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Michigan successfully won its third-consecutive Big Ten Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Sunday in dominating fashion. The Wolverines scored 148 points and captured the title by 17.5 points over Indoor champion Penn State. For Michigan, it's the Wolverines' sixth Big Ten title in the program's history.

The Nittany Lions (126.5) finished second overall, followed by Illinois in third with 90 points and Ohio State in fourth with 86. Michigan State (75) took fifth, while host Purdue (64.5) was sixth. Rounding out the field was Indiana (63.5), Minnesota (63), Wisconsin(60.5) and Iowa (42).

On the men's side, Wisconsin regained bragging rights with an eight-point victory over Minnesota. The Badgers scored 165 points, while the defending champion Gophers recorded 157. Ohio State was third with 105, followed by Indiana (92) and Illinois (74) in fourth and fifth, respectively. Host Purdue finished sixth with 62.5 points and Penn State was seventh with 54.5. Michigan (41), Michigan State (34) and Iowa (31) rounded out the field.
