Clemson Women's Track And Field Team To Compete At Penn Relays

CLEMSON, SC - Selected members of the Clemson women's track and field team will compete at the Penn Relays this weekend in Philadelphia, PA. The 111th edition of the annual Penn Relays will begin on Thursday, and conclude on Saturday. This year, during over the 33 hours of competition during the three days of the meet, more than 425 races will be run, an average of more than one race every five minutes. The Lady Tiger runners will compete in four of those races, including the 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, shuttle hurdle relay and 400m hurdles. Gisele Oliveira will be the only Lady Tiger to compete in a field event, as she represents Clemson in the triple jump.

The Lady Tigers' 4x400m relay team of Silja Ulfarsdottir, Randi Hinton, Sierra Hill and Tia Perry is coming off its win at the ACC Championships, and will compete on Thursday. Also competing on Thursday, Ulfarsdottir will represent Clemson in the 400m hurdles. She was the runner-up at the ACC Championships last weekend with her school-record time of 56.62. On Friday, the 4x200m relay team comprised of the same runners as the 4x400m relay team, as well as the shuttle hurdle relay team (Polly Hardy, Renata Miyamoto, Ulfarsdottir, Hill) will take to the track. Gisele Oliveira will also compete on Friday, as she faces some of the top competitors in the nation in the triple jump.
