FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas released the NCAA's notice of allegations Tuesday, detailing several violations involving a former men's track and field assistant coach.

Arkansas, which has won 42 national championships in track and field and cross-country, had previously released copies of its self-report to the NCAA and the NCAA's letter of inquiry. The school said the violations involved former assistant Lance Brauman, who resigned from Arkansas last year after being convicted in Kansas of embezzlement, theft and mail fraud.

The notice of allegations was another step in the NCAA's enforcement process.

Brauman was convicted in a case that stemmed from his tenure at Barton County Community College in Kansas. He was sentenced to a year in prison.

Arkansas' self-report references an athlete recruited by Brauman to the Razorbacks from the Barton County school. The athlete's name is blacked out in the school's report and the notice of allegations; Brauman's mail-fraud indictment said the criminal charges involved sprinting star Tyson Gay, who transferred from Barton County Community College to Arkansas.

Gay helped Arkansas win NCAA outdoor championships in 2004 and 2005. The Razorbacks won the 2005 indoor title, although Gay sat out with an injury. Gay won the 100-meter outdoor title in 2004 and won another outdoor title the following year on the 400 relay team.

Arkansas has said it is cutting scholarships and distancing itself from two-year colleges for the time being.

Arkansas is expected to respond to the notice of allegations, and the NCAA Committee on Infractions is tentatively scheduled to consider the matter at its June 8 meeting in Portland, Ore.
