Miami's Kathryn Stephens Named Mid-American Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week

Stephens Earns Honor After Three First-Place Finishes in Miami's Win over Marshall

After gathering 29 points in Miami's 166-91 win over Marshall in its opening dual meet of the 2007-08 season, senior Kathryn Stephens (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) was named Mid-American Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced today.

Stephens earned first place finishes in the 200 Butterfly and the 100 Butterfly, while also finishing in first place as a member of the 400 Medley Relay Team. Stephens' most impressive win came in the 100 Butterfly, winning the event by four seconds.

The RedHawks travel to Louisville, Ky. as Miami faces Louisville in a dual meet on Friday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m.
