Kim redshirted her senior year in 2007 to join Hooven and the U.S. Senior and World teams in international competitions. Recently, the U.S. World team won the bronze medal in the free combination routine at the 2007 FINA World Aquatic Championships in

In 2004, Hooven and Kim paired up in the duet to win the collegiate national championship before combining with Lindsay Newbill for the trio title to help the Buckeyes claim the overall national team title.
The Olympic announcement followed the conclusion of the 2007 U.S. National Championships. The Buckeyes finished third in the event with 23 points.
