Fairfax, Va.--The George Mason swimming and diving teams hosted a quad meet at the Aquatics Center tonight facing Army, American and ODU. The Patriot women won all three of their dual meets and the men were victorious in two meets. A total of 32 events were run, with the Patriots finishing first in 10.

The Patriot women defeated American (183.00-96.00); CAA rival Old Dominion (171.00-122.00) and the United State Military Academy (168.00-127). The only squad that didn't win a dual meet was American.

Six events were won by the Patriots women's team led by Sarah Bizer who finished first in two freestyle events, the 50 yard (23.83) and 100 yard (53.15), and as a member of the 400 yard medley relay team (3.59.69). Rebecca Jimenez finished first in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.92) in addition to the winning medley team. The 200 yard backstroke was won by Mason's Allie Smith (2:08.67) and the 200 yard butterfly by Brittany Surkovich (2:10.23).

The women divers placed four in the top five in both the 1 meter and 3 meter events. Colleen Flack was second in both for the Patriots. Amanda Fielding placed 3rd in the 1 meter and 4th in the 3 meter reversing positions with teammate Liz Gabriel, who finished 3rd in the 3 meter and 4th in the 1 meter. Katie Gordon finished 5th in both for the Patriots.

The Army men swept the first three spots on the 3 meter diving event, but Mason's Ryan Metzker finished second in the 1 meter competition.

The men defeated American (195.50-88.50) and Old Dominion (155.00-144.00), but lost to Army (191.00-109.00). The team was top medalist in four events led by Tom Koucheravy, who won three distance freestyle events. He finished the 1000 yard in 9:39.53; the 500 yard freestyle (4:33.63) and the 200 yard (1:41.96) to take the honors. Teammate Tim Norton won the 400 yard IM in a time of 4:04.98.

The Patriots host a tri-meet with Mary Washington and Marymount on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Aquatics Center.
