Nanooks Skiers Get Test Run For 2007-08 Season

Alaska to hit Birch Hill on Saturday and Sunday

FAIRBANKS, AK- With the regular season looming, the Alaska Nanook skiers will get their first full run-out of the year this weekend, as both the men's and women's teams hit Birch Hill for the first event of the Flint Hills Town Race Series on Saturday, and the USSA National Ranking List Points Race on Sunday.

Saturday race will be a 5 km freestyle race for women and 7.5 km freestyle race for men. Both events will be a mass-start format, and should begin around 11:30, depending on the results of earlier races.

Sunday's race will be a interval start classic ski, with distances of 5 km for women and 10 km for men.

Following the action on Saturday and Sunday, the Nanooks begin their season in earnest next weekend with a three-day visit to West Yellowstone, Montana for the U.S. Super Tour opener.

Scott Jerome will give his skiers their first test of the season this Saturday and Sunday
