Minutemen look to ECSC Championships

Brownsville, VT- Sophomore Andrew Hawes took fourth in the men's Slalom this weekend at the Boston College Carnival. Hawes led the Minutemen with a time of 1:33.58. Matthew Small continues to have a solid season, placing tenth with a time of 1:37.10, while senior James Green took 15th crossing the finish line at 1:38.18. Rounding out the top five for the Minutemen include Adam Pogorzelski (17th, 1:38.60) and Travis Hopkins (21st, 1:39.39). It was a tough race for Jason Small, Ian Hohmeister, and Paul Lewenberg, who were unable to complete their runs successfully. The men's ski team was able to place third in the Slalom event and tie with Boston College for second place in conference heading into Sunday's Giant Slalom event.
Ian Hohmeister and Matthew Small led the Minutemen in the Giant Slalom event. Hohmeister finished eighth (1:31.65) and Matthew Small clocked in tenth (1:32.15). Pogorzelski finished 16th (1:34.65), Hopkins took 23rd (1:37.05) and Lewenberg took 43rd (1:52.82), to help the Minutemen finish fourth in the Giant Slalom event. The Minutemen now trail BC by two points in conference.

The Minutemen enjoy a weekend off to recharge before the heading out to Middlebury Vermont for the EISA Conference Championships on Friday, February 22nd. On February 23rd and 24th, the men head to Watervillle Valley, N.H. to compete in the ECSC Regional Championship.
