Roche, Fusick Turn In Career-Bests At MIT Carnival

Junior co-captains finish sixth and 11th, respectively, in final GS of the regular season.

LINCOLN, N.H. - Junior co-captains John Roche and Kevin Fusick recorded the best finishes of their respective careers on Sunday, as the Babson alpine ski teams competed in the giant slalom event at the MIT Carnvial at Loon Mountain. The men finished fifth overall, while the women placed seventh.

Coming off a stellar 12th-place effort in Saturday's slalom, Roche was even better in the GS, finishing sixth overall out of 80 competitors. It was the best finish of his collegiate career and was the best by any Babson men's skier since 2005. He was joined in the top 15 by Fusick, who also turned in the top finish of his Babson career by placing 11th overall - one spot better than his previous best set earlier this season.

Also racing for the men's team were first-year Max Winthrop, who finished 27th overall, rookie Keith Vella, who placed 31st, sophomore Chris Jacobs, who came in 35th, sophomore Connor Lemenze, who finished 40th, and first-year Enrico Palmerino, who placed 64th.

For the women, first-year Alyssa Sullivan recorded the team's top finish for the third straight race, placing 28th overall. First-year Alexis Burton was close behind in 29th place, followed by senior captain Jess Cohen in 49th, first-year Catherine Mills in 62nd, sophomore Tahira Adatia in 68th, and first-year Victoria Tanous in 72nd.
