Roche, Burton Lead Skiing On Day One At Waterville Valley

Women finish ninth in slalom; men take fifth.

WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - The Babson alpine ski teams competed in their second slalom event of the season on Saturday, as the men finished fifth and the women placed ninth on day one of the Plymouth State Carnival at Waterville Valley.

First-year Alexis Burton once again paced the women's team, as she finished in a tie for 25th overall. She was followed by fellow rookies Alyssa Sullivan in 42nd, Catherine Mills in 53rd, and Victoria Tanous in 54th. Senior captain Jess Cohen came in 59th, and sophomore Tahira Adatia rounded out the lineup in 62nd.

Junior co-captain John Roche anchored the men's squad with a 13th-place performance. First-year Keith Vella, sophomore Connor Lemenze, and first-year Max Winthrop also posted top-25 finishes, coming in 20th, 22nd, and 24th, respectively. Sophomore Chris Jacobs placed 28th for the Beavers, junior co-captain Kevin Fusick came in 33rd, and rookie Enrico Palmerino took 67th.
