DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU rowing team competed in the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta this weekend in Oklahoma City at Regatta Park. Meg Gaab took first-place honors in the Collegiate Single race with a time of 17:31.69.

In the Collegiate Eight 4K race, one crew took sixth-place with a time of 15:04.69 while another team finished 15th clocking in at 15:57.24. The sixth-place finish was high enough to advance to the finals where they finished second in their heat and then sixth overall. In other races, the duo of Gaab and Krystal Kulka placed 16th with a time of 19:24.25 while Alexa Tuszynski and Julie Pollard finished right behind them in 17th with a time of 20:00.94.

The Collegiate Fours had three finishes. One crew placed 11th with a time of 17:03.40, another finished 17th with 17:34.43 and then another group at 26th with 19:09.86.

This was the first race for the Mustangs this season. Next, they will compete in Austin at the Head of the Colorado, Oct. 28.
