This weekend marked the beginning of the spring season for Women's Rowing, where they opened at the Occoquan Chase. Mason finished 2nd on the day falling to Bucknell, but taking a win over CAA rival Delaware. This weekend marked the first race for the of Novice 8 boat. "They raced with the composure and control that I would expect from a varsity-level crew. We were all very happy with this first step," said assistant coach Gallagher pleased with the performance.

Coach Dillard had this to say about the first race "I was very happy with how we performed. This was our first race of the spring and we just wanted to get one under our belt and have a strong race start to finish, I think we did that. We have been working on some new things this year and trying to apply it to our race rowing. We will look to build from this weekend and improve next week. It was good to race conference rival Delaware early to see where we stand. We will need to continue to work hard to stay ahead of them going into our conference championship."

The times for Mason are as follows: Varsity 8 finished in 7:06.78, the second Varsity 8 came in at 7:19.30, Varsity 4 rowed 8:31.91, and Novice 8 marked a time of 7:23.0. For additional information on the results click here
