CSTV.com is looking for passionate and creative college sports fans and journalists to participate in its unique original broadband road trips. These trips are season-long itineraries that travel select routes through the world of college sports. The trips are approximately 14 weeks, all of which will be spent on the road.
We have filled our 2007 football openings - the trips can be followed at CSTV.com's Road Trip Central. We are continuing to look for roadtrippers to potentially cover men's basketball, women's basketball, hockey, baseball and other NCAA Championship events.
Each potential trip will involve sending a team of two on the road - so all applications should be submitted as a pair. The successful partnership will have the following characteristics.
- 1: We are hiring a team - so its two people who are already friends and can spend weeks in a car and hotels together
- 2: A passion for college sports in specific - this isn't a comparison trip with the pro game
- 3: Solid journalism skills, writing ability and a nose for a good story angle - whether it be game-related or off the field.
- 4: Previous experience with sports journalism, whether as a writer, reporter or broadcaster.
- 5: A comfort level with technology - this is about video and pictures, so its not just writing words - its shooting, editing and posting. However, no previous experience with video production is required.
- 6: A sense of humor. This trip is supposed to be fun, and what will attract viewers is that enjoyment.
- 7: The ability to be on the road for three months. The trip never stops, and there aren't going to be side trips or days off.
- 8: CSTV.com road trippers also serve as ambassadors for CSTV, so a strong sense of responsibility and understanding of the business important. The trips also will involve sponsor, marketing and promotional events and activation.
Candidates should have previous experience in sports journalism, with prior exposure to the Internet a plus. Strong editing and writing skills are essential, as well as a high comfort level with computers. All positions are freelance jobs.
