For the second straight month, CSTV.com [www.CSTV.com] -- part of CSTV Networks and currently ranked in the Top 10 Sports Websites -- led the pack of online sports destinations in annual growth, with 5.8 million unique visitors heading to the site this past October for scores, features and game highlights. This represents an increase in traffic of 18% from a year ago [4.9 million], according to the latest Nielsen/NetRatings monthly online usage report released last week.
CSTV.com also had a record-breaking weekend over November 18-20, streaming more than 250 live events on its "All-Access" broadband package, including men's and women's basketball, football, men's and women's hockey and soccer, women's volleyball, swimming and diving events.
"With the depth and breadth of exclusive online sports content available at CSTV.com, the site is a natural first stop for college sports fans looking for news, highlights and interviews featuring their favorite teams," said
The increase in CSTV.com traffic coincides with CSTV Networks' acquisition by CBS, which cited the sports network's substantial online presence and popularity as one of the key factors for executives deciding to purchase the two-year-old media company.
CSTV Networks Inc. is the leading digital and cable programming network dedicated to college sports. Connecting more fans to more college sports than any other company, its many platforms for programming distribution include CSTV: College Sports TV, televising regular-season and championship events for 35 men's and women's college sports; CSTV.com and its network of nearly 250 official athletic sites; CSTV All Access, online and pay-per-view subscription services providing live audio and video of more than 7,000 events annually; as well as satellite television and radio, in-flight entertainment, wireless networks and more. In November, CBS announced it will purchase CSTV for $325 million, effective January, 2006. Further information is available at www.CSTV.com.
